August 31, 1958 - September 5, 2021
Keith Elliott Schrock went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 5th, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. Born at Belle Glade Memorial Hospital on August 31st, 1958, Keith was the oldest of seven children. He chose to join the US Marine Corp at just seventeen and served from 1976-1978. During his time in the Marines, Keith was a recognized rifle expert and a diesel mechanic. After completing one tour in Japan, Keith returned home to his native Florida in Belle Glade. Upon returning home, Keith enjoyed the comforts of the ocean. He spent his days fishing and surfing the coasts, turning strangers into friends…, and building a small army of strong women. As much as Keith loved the sea, nothing compared to the love he had for his family…, especially his girls. Anyone that knew Keith knew that his heart belonged to his daughters. Keith is survived by his mother, Ada Raines. Brothers, Robert (Donna) Martin, Woody Raines, David Raines and one sister, Norma Jean (Ernie) Knight, along with many treasured nieces and nephews. Daughters, Sarah Phelps, Tiffany (Ivan) Bruno and Kristie “baby girl” (Tia) Schrock. Grandchildren, Avery (Mattie) Scribner, Madelynn Scribner, Kaysie Stark, Laney Stark, Brylee Stark, Angelina Bruno, Amelia Bruno, Ivan Bruno, Aziel Bruno, Coen Hixon and Destiny Calvert, and one great-granddaughter, Eliza. Keith was preceded in death by his stepfather, David Raines, and sisters, Sheryl, Teresa, Susan, and Rose. In Keith’s final days, he was surrounded by those that loved him. He spent his time listening to bluegrass Gospel music and proudly received his first baptism in the final week of his life. Keith leaves behind a legacy of kindness, mischief, and a heart of gold. He was one in a million and will be remembered fondly and loved forever. A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Nurse Heather for extending your warmth to our father in a time when he otherwise may have felt very alone. Highlands Cremation and Funeral Care is serving the family and condolences may be sent to them through the website at www.highlandscremationandfuneralcare.com.
