Lisa Marie Austin

Mrs. Lisa Austin, Born on September 14, 1962, in China, to Sharon Gail Thompson and George Mitchell Thompson, has passed away, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Paul Thompson. Also, gone too soon, her funny, lovable, father-in-law Van Harold Austin. Lisa has been married to her amazing, loving, and caring husband, Craig Harold Austin, for over 40 years. Their love for each other was so very perfect. I was one of the lucky ones who found their partner in life early on. When I first saw Lisa in High School, I had never seen anyone so beautiful in my whole life. To me she was perfect and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. Life went on and we went our separate ways for a while, but fate put us back together. We married in 1985, and had a beautiful daughter, Camellia. After that, Lisa had spent her life assuring that our daughter had everything she needed for life. Lisa has taken care of our home and me and our daughter for her whole life. While selflessly always concerned and caring about others. We have had a wonderful life together and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. As time went by – her health began to try to slow her down, but she never gave in to it. Always with a bright and positive outlook – so strong and brave. Even in poor health, Lisa continued to think of others instead of herself, still cooking her great meals and cleaning and taking care of our home, all the while, still in pain. She has been a devoted wife for over 40 years. She has been caring, loving, and teaching mother and grandmother for their whole lives. She loved her daughter and grandkids and would do anything at anytime for them… no question. Lisa has been my whole world since I met her. I could not have accomplished anything without her support. I don’t know if a person can live with half a body – but without my wife that’s what I am. I love you always and forever. God be with you! Lisa is survived by her beautiful and cherished daughter Camellia Austin (Brian Murphy) and three grandchildren; Cooper Roberson, Conor Murphy, and Clover Murphy. To honor my mother’s legacy in just a few paragraphs would be impossible. My mom was the most beautiful woman I have ever known, both inside and out. Her laugh was infectious. I remember so many nights sitting around the living room with her and my father, laughing until our cheeks hurt. My mother made ordinary moments magical and taught me to appreciate and find joy in even the smallest blessings. No amount of time together would ever be enough, but I am eternally grateful for the time God blessed us with. I cannot imagine life without my mom and although my heart is broken, I take comfort in knowing she in in the arms of God, free from pain. The love and gratitude I have for my mother cannot be fully expressed in words. She is the standard by which I measure myself, especially as a mother, she loved without holding back, lived fully in each moment and cared selflessly for those around her. Her memory will live on in my heart forever. So, mom, until we see each other again, I will miss you every moment of every day. I will look to the sky every rainbow and every beautiful sunset, and I will think of you, wondering if you are still bringing beauty to this world, even from heaven. ~ Camellia We extend a very heartfelt thank you to Care Partners Hospice.
